Vaness
Dairy -- Sanborn, Iowa
This just
completed 2,500-head dairy features a cross ventilated barn
and a WestfaliaSurge double 50 parallel parlor with an
automatic back flush system. The cows are bedded with sand
and sand is separated from the manure stream in sand lanes.
Harvey and Lisa Vaness started dairying in Washington state.
They moved 350 cows to Idaho and built their dairy up to1,
800 cows. Their latest move to Iowa and expansion makes it
possible for their five sons and their families to continue
to be involved in the dairy.
