Meet Bel Brands USA's project
manager
-
We met
Francine
Moudry, the planning and construction manager for the Bel Brand
USA plant that is coming to
Brookings, S.D. We were impressed. Previously she
was director of operations for the company’s Leitchfield,
Kentucky, plant. She has a farm background. When you meet Moudry
ask her about working on her grandparents’ vineyard in France.
Probably like many of you, she was so young when she started
driving the tractor that her grandfather had to put wood blocks
on the pedals so she could reach them.

Iowa consider raw milk bill
-
The Iowa legislature is considering another bill legalizing raw milk.
It is "180 degrees in the wrong direction,” says Mark Truedeal,
Iowa Dairy Foods Association lobbyist, of the proposal. But
Francis Thicke, the Fairfield dairy farmer who ran
unsuccessfully for Iowa agriculture secretary in 2010, is
telling lawmakers that European studies show that it less likely
that children will suffer from asthma or hay fever if they drink
raw milk.
