The Central Plains Dairy Expo is having a Photography Contest! You don’t have to be a professional photographer to enter our contest, this is for anyone who loves to take pictures about life on a dairy farm.

The Rules:

  • Must be your own photo
  • Can be taken on a phone or with digital camera
  • Must be a digital copy and submitted online
  • Limit to 3 photos per category per person
  • Photos can be a maximum size of 2MB
  • Must be submitted on or before September 30, 2019

The winners will include:

  • Generations on the Farm – First Place
  • Details on the Dairy Farm – First Place
  • Milking in All Aspects – First Place
  • Cows and Calves on the Farm – First Place

There are prizes for each winner — these will be announced soon.

Categories:

  • Generations on the Farm
    • This category includes pictures of multiple generations on the farm, family members learning the ropes on the farm from another generation, or simply a family photo.
  • Details on the Dairy Farm
    • Picture items on the farm that people outside of the industry may not know about or ever see. Capture items that are unique, cool, old (antique items), fun to look at, or a simple item in the barn. Be creative and have fun!
  • Milking in All Aspects
    • Show us images of cows being milked. There are multiple ways to do it and we are intrigued to see them all.
    • Please make sure all pictures include animals being treated with kindness and they’re in a quality working area.
  • Cows and Calves on the Farm
    • Pictures of any and all cows, doing a multitude of things. Examples include:
      • Cows sleeping
      • Cows on pasture
      • Cows in a herd
      • All happy cows, enjoying their life on a dairy farm
      • Calves playing in a barn
      • Calves sleeping peacefully
      • Calves being bottle fed
      • These are just examples, all appropriate pictures are encouraged to be submitted.
      • Please no pictures of artificial insemination, cows calving or calves newly born

How to win:

Photos will be posted in an album (for each category, 4 different albums) on the Central Plains Dairy Expo Facebook page. Each week in October will be reserved for voting for an individual category. The photo with the most ‘likes’ will win the category, so encourage your friends to ‘like’ your photo. At the end of each week we will announce the winner. Category voting dates are:

October 7-13

Category: Details on a Dairy Farm
October 14-20
Winner announced on October 21

Category: Milking in All Aspects
October 21-27
Winner announced on October 28

Category: Cow and Calves on the Farm

The Central Plains Dairy Association and Central Plains Dairy Expo reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Campaign or website or violates these Terms & Conditions. The Central Plains Dairy Association and Central Plains Dairy Expo has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the campaign, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to: multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by campaign rules; or the use of bots, macros, scripts, or other technical means for entering. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the campaign may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such attempt be made, the Central Plains Dairy Association and Central Plains Dairy Expo reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
